Steven A. Berliner

Mr. Berliner is a career civil litigator with more than twenty years experience litigating hard fought cases for businesses, business owners, and charities. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and UCLA School of Law. After externing for the Hon. Harry Pregerson on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Mr. Berliner began legal practice as an associate of Arnold & Porter. He moved on to work under the tutelage of two former prosecutors from the Department of Justice, Organized Crime Division, Charles Wehner and Rodney Perlman. Before embarking on a solo practice to form his own law firm, Mr. Berliner was a litigation partner with Poindexter & Doutre, where he practiced for seven years. He also has worked in close association with reknowned business trial attorney Lawrence Nagler in a number of high profile matters.

Mr. Berliner is on the faculty of the National Business Institute and McQuillin Education, and volunteers for Bet Tzedek and the Constitutional Rights Foundation when time permits. In 2006, the California State Bar Board of Governors presented Mr. Berliner with the Wiley M. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services. Mr. Berliner is formerly president, vice president, treasurer and chair of the mentoring committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Trial Practice Inn of Court, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Through the LACBA he also has served as a volunteer Deputy District Attorney with the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.
